Mighty Avengers 30

Writers: Dan Slott & Christos Gage
Artist: Sean Chen
EPIC WIN! Alright I just had to get that out of the way, this issue was great, not good, not pretty good, but GREAT. The Avengers Assemble, not just the Mighty, but the Young, New, and Resistance Avengers as well , all to go and confront The Unspoken in china. Not only that but Hank Pym Meets with Eternity, and Learns what I’ve always know about him, He is Awesome!

First things first, seeing the Avengers gather on a large scale was a cool, especially Jarvis’s reaction o the whole thing, and the Clever banter is actually clever which is also good. I am really digging the unspoken character; he’s got the right ting of tragedy to his back story to make him sympathetic, but not sappy or over emotional. Second Pym’s whole interaction with Eternity is so great, Pym has always been held back by his inferiority complex and it’s great to see he will finally be shedding it [kind of sad it takes a god like being telling him to “man up” to do it though]. If there’s one thing marvel dose right it’s the whole Super-Science genre, and this issue Pym portions highlights it perfectly, the Techno babble is cool, and the Grandness of it all is such a treat.

The art was average, maybe a little below, it the scenes with Pym were stunning and had great colors and proportions, but the battle scenes with the unspoken and some of the facial expressions left much to be desired.
This issue was Epic, and a must get, it is also a great jumping on point. While the New & Dark Avengers books carry the Dark reign plot, the Mighty Avengers delivers old school Marvel Epicenes.
